INTRODUCTION
Last Plant Standing is a multi-media project highlighting the need to conserve diversity of the world’s food crops, to ensure global food security. The project was initiated and funded by the International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI), with generous additional funding from: NHK, (through TVE Japan); International Development Research Centre; the UK Department for International Development; Danida, the Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Project development was supported by the European Commission.
This has enabled TVE to oversee the production of Last Plant Standing - a major educational television series in English and Spanish, to produce a 26-minute version, Banking on the Gene for TVE’s Earth Report series, as well as videos in five languages illustrating the work of IPGRI. These productions are accompanied by an education pack for schools, a print catalogue of video and online resources, as well as this online catalogue.
Any views expressed in the catalogue are solely those of the contributors and the editorial staff and do not necessarily reflect the policies or priorities of the funding agencies.
EDUCATION PACK
The education pack, intended for use in schools has been produced by TVE's OUTREACH project. If you would like to receive a copy please contact TVE’s Distribution Office.
